The VOS Board of Directors and the WVOC organizing committee are excited to announce that registration for the WVOC conference is now open through the VOS webpage portal! We are thrilled about how the program, laboratories, and social activities are coming together!

We are posting an incomplete draft of the conference program so that you can get an idea of the great program we have in store for the 2022 WVOC! COVID Vaccination Requirement

Taking into account the current and ever-changing COVID situation, we will be requiring every attendee and those in their party, age 12 and up, to be fully vaccinated, except for individuals with a medical exemption for vaccination. Fully vaccinated attendees will be required to upload proof of vaccination. Individuals with a medical exemption must provide proof of a negative COVID PCR or antigen test prior to the event. The negative COVID PCR test must occur within 72 hours of conference arrival, and a negative COVID antigen test must occur within 48 hours of conference arrival.

We are constantly monitoring the CDC regulations, as well as the Pitken County public health regulations, and will keep everyone up to date through emails and on our website.

Our registration site is where you will upload your vaccination record. A link to upload your vaccination record will be at the end of the registration.

International Travel Requirements

Foreign Nationals: COVID-19 travel restrictions for most fully vaccinated international travelers to the US have been lifted! Please visit the CDC Travel website for the most recent guidance for international travel. Starting December 6, all air passengers, regardless of vaccination status, must show a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 1 day before travel to the United States.

Cancellation Policies

Clarification to Lodging Cancellation Policy: We also have clarified the cancellation policy for the Viewline and Wildwood hotels at Snowmass, and the terms are much more favorable for conference participants:

If the conference is cancelled, deposits will be refundable. Should any attendee decide they aren't comfortable coming to the conference then the refund policy applies.The cancellation policy for the Viewline and Wildwood is: You may cancel your reservation for no charge before 11:59 PM local hotel time on January 6, 2022 (30 day[s] before arrival). Please note that we will assess a fee which equals 2 nights of your room charge (for the first and last nights of your reservation) if you must cancel after this deadline. If you have made a prepayment, we will retain all or part of your prepayment. If not, we will charge your credit card.

If the conference is cancelled due to COVID, you will be notified and will receive a refund of 100% of the registration fee. For other cancellations, our policy remains: 100% of your registration fee will be refunded if the Secretary is notified before the convention begins. No refunds after that. (Special circumstances may allow full refund, i.e. deaths, injuries, illness.)

Meet the 2022 Jacques Jenny Lecturer

Farshid Guilak, PhD, is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University, Director of Research for the St. Louis Shriners Hospitals for Children, and co-director of the Washington University Center of Regenerative Medicine. His laboratory is pursuing a multidisciplinary approach for developing new tissue engineering and stem cell-based therapies for musculoskeletal diseases, focusing on primarily on post-traumatic osteoarthritis, obesity-induced osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. He has published over 360 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has co-edited four books. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Biomechanics, Associate editor for Osteoarthritis & Cartilage, and serves on numerous other journal editorial boards, He has won several national and international awards for his research as well as 4 awards for mentoring. He has also worked extensively in the translation of tissue engineering technologies and he is the Founder of Cytex Therapeutics, a startup company focusing on developing new regenerative medicine therapies for musculoskeletal conditions.
