VOS Mission Statement
The objectives of the organization shall be to provide for the association of persons engaged in the practice, teaching, or research in the area of orthopedics for the presentation and discussion of items of common interest, to further scientific investigation, and to upgrade the specialty of orthopedics in order to provide better patient care.
Pursuant to this objective, membership is open to and encouraged from all interested people from the international community without prejudice to country, race, color, sex, or religion. Not withstanding any other provisions of the Articles of Incorporation, the corporation (a) is not organized for profit, and no part of the net earnings of the corporation shall inure to the benefit of any member; and (b) shall not conduct or carry on any activities not permitted to be conducted or carried on by an organization exempt under Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code, as amended, or regulations thereunder.
The term of this organization shall be perpetual; however, in the event of dissolution of the corporation, its property shall be dedicated to the American Veterinary Medical Association.
